2008....

It is 2008.  I have just turned 24.  I will graduate with one Master's Degree on June 8.  I will leave for Thailand on June 10. I am pumped for this summer and next year.  I will graduate on June 15, 2009 with my second Master's degree in Human Resources.  I think the year should be interesting.

This summer I am spending 2 months in Thailand for an internship working with an organization called Asia's Hope at an orphanage they have established in Thailand.  I will fly over to Campbodia for about a week in the middle of that to see their other orphanage.  It's going to be amazing I think!  I don't know exactly what I will be doing but I am working right now to get my certificate to teach English as a Foreign Language.  So, who knows.  Maybe one day I will just up and go to another country and teach English for awhile.   Crazier things have happened!

School is going well.  Everything is just winding down and soon I will be half way around the world!  Reflecting back on this past year I have grown a lot!  I have made some amazing friends here at OSU and I miss all of my other friends from home and the A-K Rowdy!  I think about everyone a lot!!!!  I will update this over the summer to keep everyone in the loop about what's happening over in Thailand.  Talk to you soon!

Where to go from here...

So, it's been a year since I've written......probably sums up that my life has been hectic but yet has come full circle to now being very focused on something....

In this year I have been in a couple weddings...Joe & Tiff and Jo & Adam.  Both weddings were a great times of laughter and funw ith friends.  i was truly honored to be a part of both of these couples journeys!

My job responsibilities have switched to working with Community Service at Ohio State and I absolutely LOVE IT!  I could see myself staying for a little while after graduation.

I'm heading to Ecuador in 2 weeks to serve as an advisor to the Aletrnative Spring Break trip.  I can't wait.  I've gotten all of my vaccinations and I'm ready to hop on the plane.

I am going to Honduras in September for 12 days as a study abroad service-learning experience.  We are going to be working in an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDS.  I can't wait for this experience!

I am looking to do an internship this summer with a non-profit....I have a prospective organization but I will know more on Thursday if it's what I'm looking for in an internship.

Life with the Delts is good.  They are funny, loud, and respectful.  I guess the three characteristics are good to have in one group of men.  I think God placed me here for a reason...I'm learning a lot from them and some of them are learning something from me. (At least I like to think so!)

I am graduating with my HESA degree in June and then next June I will graduate with my HR degree.  It's going quickly, but yet, it's enjoyable!

alright, well I have to go write some final papers for class! STACK'S COMING HOME THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!  I can't wait to tackle her.

Wow, an entire quarter has passed and I haven't written once on this thing.

Umm...I'm 84 years old and I have no life other than school and work.

Well, not really but that's what it seems like.  I enjoy everything I'm doing; however, it's tiring and I'm ready for a break....a Spring Break in fact!

I have solidified some plans as of today...and it's going to probably be some of the funniest memories and good times I've had in awhile!

Here's a rundown....

March 16-19: ATL with Stack...yep, the 2 of us are heading south to visit the Huggins' and NASCAR!  Oh man, Tents, southern accents and a 12 hour road trip are definitely going to be picture worthy!

March 20-21: HOME! C-Town is calling my name and I miss it and my family so I am excited for those 2 days of solitude.

March 22-25: NYC with Meg  We're flying out to the Big Apple for a few days of F-U-N!  Again, old friends creating some new memories!

Finals are next week and I can't wait for Thursday, March 15 at 9pm....I will officially be done with my second quarter at OSU and it will be thrilling!

This week I have received some EXCELLENT news!  Johanna and Adam have gotten engaged and I will be playing a part in the festivities on January 5, 2008.  It's pretty much going to be the thing I look forward to for the next 10 Months!  I love them!

One Quarter Down

Kind of crazy to think....1 quarter down 8-10 more to go!

This has been a great experience.  I have made some good friends so far, learned a lot about student development, created a new lens to view the world through, attended some amazing football games, laughed a ton, cried a little because I missed my friends and family, procrastinated like always, got rid of some of my stereotypes surrounding fraternities, became more professional & adult-like, seen cockroaches, came face-to-face with a squirrel, learned the bus system, learned I'm not really sure what being a white, heterosexual female truly means to me because it's just something that I've always known to be a part of who I am and will always be (damn student development class!), surprisingly never cried because of my housemates (aka 24 fraternity men), grown to appreciate my elementary vocabulary level, and learned I need to work on not discounting my abilities.

I'd say that's a lot of growth for a 10-week period!  I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

Well...I do know BCS National Championship Game.  Glendale, Arizona here I Come from Jan 6-9!!  Go Bucks! We're not gonna be your Gator Bait!
